According to the stories of my grandmother and of my father Theodore Moraitis, the family came to Paros from the Peloponese during the revolution of 1821.
The family continues the Moraitis "wine" tradition in Paros. In 1970 Theodore Moraitis chose the youngest of his four children, George Moraitis, sole heir in order to keep up the family wine tradition.
By decision of his father he studied enology in Athens. During his studies, along with the theoretical training, he was able to make his practice in one of the biggest wine production companies, the "VOTRIS" of Bodosakis, for four years.
There he had great experience next to worthy enologists, Greek and French. After completing his studies he returned to Paros where his father Theodore charged him with the standardization of winemaking and wine.
In 1976 he made his first succesful bottling. Since then the Paros bottled wine has been welcome with joy throughout the island. And then became known also outside Paros.
In October 2006 George Moraitis took part ih the nationwide contest of organic wines ECOFESTIVAL in Athens winning the first golden award with his white wine.

This was followed by several publications with that of ELEFTHEROTYPIA newspaper considering him a champion of organic wines, a unique recognition not only for himself but also for Paros.

Now he continues the tradition growing high quality organic varieties in a way that the production trend of today has not stopped.
